Reserve Budget

Reserve Budget marks the step where the money of the model call ahead is held. The hold itself is taken by AI Model, at the moment it calls the provider.

What it does

The node passes the execution on through Default and holds nothing. When the call of the AI Model node its chain leads to is answered, the trace writes the reserved event of its hold on this node, and not on the model node. A call that fails or is refused writes no such event.

When the execution leaves the chain before the call — a Condition sends it another way — no hold is taken, and the node carries no event of one.

When to use it

• To show on the canvas and in the trace the step at which the money of a call is held, where the author of the flow drew it.

• The node is not needed for the hold: a model node takes its hold whether or not the node stands before it.

• The node does not hold the money earlier. The hold is taken when the call is made, and lasts until the call is settled — How budget reservations work.

Settings

The node has no settings. The amount of the hold is the estimate of the call multiplied by the safety multiplier, as for any hold.

Ports

The node has one port, Default, and it is required.

Output

The node leaves no output. The hold is read in the trace of the execution and on the Authorizations tab of Operations.

Errors

The node raises no error of its own and has no setting to check. Its place is checked when the flow is published.

• It leads to exactly one AI Model: to none is misplaced_finance_node, to several is ambiguous_finance_chain.

• No Queue and no Require Approval can be reached from it before a model is reached, along any connection but a Deny branch: park_inside_finance_chain. An execution that waits holds nothing.

Example

The execution passes Reserve Budget, and AI Model takes the hold and calls the model. The trace shows the reserved event of the call on the first node, and Return Response answers the caller.
